Latest Placement News – All 2007 Students Placed!
December 2007

Continuing our history of placing all MRM graduates, all students from the 2007 graduating class of MRM student successfully secured jobs.  Even more impressive – all students had their job offers prior to graduation in December.  Congratulations to all!

MRM Placement

Most graduates from the MRM program find positions in the financial services sector although we are beginning to place students in the non-financial sector as well. Some students take jobs in the banking industry working in financial risk management or in quantitative modeling departments. Other students take jobs in the insurance industry working in the investments departments or, if they are dual degree MRM/MAS students, they may end up working in product development and pricing or in the enterprise risk management groups. Given the rigorous nature of the program, several students have left the MRM program to pursue Ph.D. degrees. A sample of the positions students took in 2006 and 2007 are below.

How successful are MRM students finding employment after graduation?

As of the 2007, 100 percent of all graduates from the MRM program have secured jobs within six months of graduation. The MRM faculty adviser works closely with the RMI Department’s Director of Student and External Affairs and with the Robinson College’s Career Management Center to attract employers to campus for several job fairs which take place during the year. What is the average starting salary for a MRM graduates?

The average starting salary of MRM graduates over the past two years, 2006 and 2007, is $72,000. The salary range over was $55,000 to $105,000. This amount does not include expected annual bonuses and signing bonuses often offered as part of an employment contract. The range for signing bonuses is between $5,000-$10,000.  Annual bonus schemes vary greatly between employers and the type of position.

In addition to the career services offered by the Department and the College, students should also actively pursue employment opportunities while they are completing their degree.
