Deborah S. Gaunt received an M.I. from Georgia State University. Ms. Gaunt is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Ms. Gaunt holds professional designations in risk management, research and planning, and reinsurance. She is also a Certified Financial Planner™ certificant. Prior to joining Georgia State, Ms. Gaunt was both a commercial property and liability underwriter and senior marketing representative.
Ms. Gaunt is an instructor in the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in property and liability insurance and risk management, life and health insurance, employee benefits, and personal financial planning. In addition, she taught in the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) program for a number of years.
Ms. Gaunt is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and the CPCU Society. She has served as chairman of the public relations and research committees and has served as a director of the Georgia Chapter of the CPCU Society. Ms. Gaunt is a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) and the Southern Risk and Insurance Association (SRIA). She is a risk management consultant.
