Thomas S. Tredway retired in July 2005 as an associate professor of actuarial science in the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He still teaches several courses on a part-time basis and serves as an undergraduate AS program advisor. He joined the Department of Risk Management and Insurance the summer of 1995. Prior to coming to Georgia State, he taught mathematics for 12 years at Oxford College of Emory University, where he was Chairman of the Mathematics Department. After leaving Oxford College, he worked for the Segal Company as lead actuary for several government, multi-employer, and corporate clients.
Professor Tredway has extensive experience in defined benefit plans, is an Associate in the Society of Actuaries, is an Enrolled Actuary and serves on the Society of Actuaries examination committee for the basic enrollment examination.
