A NEW EXPERIMENTAL COURSE OFFERED IN THE FALL 2008:
BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT (RMI 8600)
The likelihood of one or more of these events occurring during our lifetime has increased tremendously. Likewise, the likelihood of more or more of these events affecting you, your family and your livelihood has also increased tremendously.
Would you like to differentiate yourself in this highly competitive job market by having the training and skills to help businesses assess their risks and be prepared to continue mission-critical functions in the event of a disaster/emergency?
If the answer is YES, then this new course RMI 8600 is for you!
The Department of Risk Management and Insurance in the Robinson College Business, together with the assistance and support from the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), is pleased to announce a new experimental course that will be offered Fall 2008. The course was developed in recognition that businesses today face many threats (natural and man-made) to their ability to continue mission critical services. Hospitals and financial institutions, for example, must continue to supply services and maintain critical records. Plans must be written, tested and maintained so that these services CAN continue – even in the face of a disaster. Legislation and regulations are now being implemented all over the world requiring and encouraging businesses to prepare for the worst. Come and be a part of a rapidly growing industry!
WHO’S TEACHING THIS COURSE?
James O. Price Jr. is a qualified DRII instructor and a Certified Business Continuity Professional. Mr. Price is responsible for disaster recovery planning for the State of Georgia Technology Authority and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Disaster Recovery Journal Magazine.
